Tyler Demmien A.L.I.V.E., President & Chief Executive Officer
Tyler Demmien is a U.S. Army Military Police Veteran and seasoned private security professional with over 13 years of combined military, law enforcement, and private-sector experience. His operational background includes service as an Explosives Detection K9 Handler in the private sector, supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and multiple law-enforcement agencies in threat mitigation, protective operations, critical-infrastructure screening, and venue security.
Tyler has extensive experience in executive protection, investigations, emergency operations, incident response, and large-scale security management. He has led and coordinated protective assignments in dynamic, high-pressure environments requiring rapid decision-making, interagency communication, and strict adherence to security protocols.
As President & CEO of SpearPoint Defense Group, Tyler oversees executive protection programs, armed security operations, GSOC integration, remote-monitoring and camera technologies, training and certification programs, compliance oversight, and national subcontractor/prime-contract partnerships. His leadership approach blends military discipline, risk-based assessment, technological integration, and a strong emphasis on accountability and standards.
Tyler is a certified A.L.I.V.E. Active Shooter Instructor and holds multiple state licenses and credentials, including Texas Level 3 Armed Security, Texas Level 4 Personal Protection Officer, and additional state security certifications across multiple regions.
He is an active member of ASIS International, IFPO, PSPA, OCPA, and InfraGard, reflecting his ongoing commitment to professional development, industry advancement, and security excellence.
Mathew Barbour, Vice President & Chief Operations Officer
Matthew Barbour is a mission-driven security executive with a proven track record of operational leadership, organizational scalability, and strategic risk management within the private protection sector. Leveraging a foundation built on years of military infantry experience and corporate management expertise, Mr. Barbour combines tactical proficiency with executive-level oversight to drive SpearPoint Defense Group’s continued expansion across multiple states and market verticals.
Throughout his military career, Mr. Barbour developed advanced competencies in weapons handling, force protection, emergency response, and small-unit leadership—skills that translate directly into his corporate approach to threat mitigation, personnel development, and operational efficiency. His Combat Lifesaver (CLS) certification and mastery of U.S. military light firearms further reinforce his role as a subject-matter expert in high-risk operations and field readiness.
In the private sector, Mr. Barbour has held key leadership roles responsible for team supervision, corporate training, client relations, and large-scale service delivery. His corporate management background enables him to bridge the gap between the tactical and administrative components of security operations, ensuring seamless integration of workforce management, compliance initiatives, and client-driven service outcomes.
As Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of SpearPoint Defense Group, Mr. Barbour oversees day-to-day operational execution, resource allocation, and organizational structure while guiding long-term growth strategies and performance standards across all divisions. He plays a critical role in shaping SDG’s deployment models, GSOC integration, technology utilization, and multi-site operational frameworks—ensuring that every client receives a consistent, high-quality security solution aligned with industry best practices.
Currently completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Mr. Barbour continues to enhance his capabilities in strategic planning, leadership theory, and organizational development. His academic advancement complements his practical experience and reinforces his commitment to advancing SDG’s mission of delivering elite, ethics-driven, client-focused protection services nationwide.
Mr. Barbour is widely regarded as a disciplined, analytical, and results-oriented leader whose balanced expertise in tactical operations and corporate governance positions him as a driving force behind SpearPoint Defense Group’s growing reputation in the security industry.
Christopher Ward, Director of Protective Operations
Chris Ward is the Director of Protective Operations for SpearPoint Defense Group and serves as a primary point of contact for mission oversight, agent deployment, and operational coordination. Chris brings more than 11 years of professional experience in high-security environments with a background that includes investigations, Internal Affairs, Special Response operations, surveillance, and facility leadership.
Before joining SDG, Chris spent over a decade in corrections, where he supported complex investigations, coordinated emergency responses, and helped develop safety, compliance, and operational readiness programs. His experience managing high-risk incidents and supervising specialized units directly supports SDG’s standards for reliability, accountability, and mission-specific adaptability.
Chris is also a competitive shooter, certified firearms instructor, and experienced range safety officer, giving him advanced technical proficiency in weapons handling, safety management, and instructor-level training. His skills reinforce SDG’s commitment to maintaining highly trained, professional personnel capable of meeting elevated client requirements.
At SpearPoint Defense Group, Chris oversees day-to-day field operations, ensures agent compliance with site directives, manages rapid deployment needs, and works closely with SDG’s GSOC to coordinate real-time communication and operational support. He is instrumental in ensuring that SDG delivers consistent, dependable, and client-focused security service on every assignment.
